About Sacha – Founder of Best of Saskatchewan
My Story
Hi, I’m Sacha.
Before moving to Saskatchewan, I spent many years working as a TV lifestyle personality, appearing on stations like CTV Saskatoon, Global Regina, CBC, and CityTV Calgary. My work has always been about discovering interesting places, meeting great people, and sharing stories that make communities special.
In 2025, my life took a big turn when I moved from Vancouver, British Columbia to Saskatchewan.
My husband is originally from here and runs a business that helps farmers use environmentally friendly fertilizers, working with the land in ways that support both agriculture and sustainability.
To be honest, the first few months were not easy for me.
Coming from a large city like Vancouver, I suddenly found myself in a place that felt very different. I was a little lonely and felt isolated at first.
Everything was new — the pace of life, the wide open spaces, and being far away from the familiar city life I had known for years.
But slowly, things started to change.
I began getting out more. I met people. I started playing hockey, began learning how to ride horses, and spent more time exploring small towns and communities across Saskatchewan.
And what I discovered surprised me.
The thing that makes Saskatchewan truly special isn’t just the landscape — although the endless prairie skies and open horizons are some of the most beautiful views you’ll see anywhere in the world.
It’s the people.
The friendly faces. The conversations where people genuinely care how you’re doing. The way someone will always invite you in for a coffee.
If your car gets stuck in the snow, chances are you won’t be waiting long — a few people will stop to help you before you even think to ask.
That spirit of kindness and community is something I’ve come to deeply appreciate.
Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to travel to more than 34 countries around the world, visiting every continent except Antarctica. I’ve seen incredible places, cultures, and cities across the globe.
And yet, I feel incredibly grateful to now call Saskatchewan my home.
This website, Best of Saskatchewan, came from a simple idea.
I wanted to share with others what I’ve discovered here — that Saskatchewan is truly an overlooked gem. There are amazing local businesses, restaurants, outdoor adventures, hidden destinations, and welcoming communities that more people deserve to know about.
Through this site, I hope to highlight the best places to visit in Saskatchewan, support local businesses, and show travellers and locals alike the many things to do across Saskatchewan.
If you love discovering great places, meeting good people, and exploring the beauty of the Canadian prairies, you’re in the right place.
Welcome to Best of Saskatchewan.
